The cost of our trips are fairly straight forward, but please do reach out if you have any questions that are not answered by looking at our trip options.
Mexico’s currency is the Peso (MN$). In non-urban Mexico, it is common that places do not accept cards. Having cash on hand is always a good idea. Larger restaurants, hotels, or cities considered touristy will have more options for using debit and credit cards. However, many local restaurants, convenience stores, taxis, bars, and markets are going to be cash driven.
ATM’s are not hard to find in most cities in Mexico. Before you travel, check the exchange rates and ATM fees you’ll incur from your bank. Also, decide if you’ll bring cash with you to exchange, or just use ATM’s to pull from while you are here. We do not recommend exchanging money at the airport, as their exchange rates and fees are NOT in your favor.
Bank’s commonly found near us in Mexico are Santander, BBVA Bancomer, Banorte, HSBC, CitiBanamex, and Scotiabank. Larger cities like Mexico City and Guadalajara have many more as well.
